Amethyst - and its healing properties

Called the “All-healer,” Amethyst is one of the most effective crystals for healing people, plants and animals.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate, and soothe, the mind and emotions. It is a semi-precious stone in today’s classifications, but to the ancients it was a “Gem of Fire,” a precious stone worth, at times in history, as much as a diamond. It has always been associated with February, the month the romans dedicated to Neptune, their water-god, and is the traditional birthstone of that month. It is the stone of St. Valentine and faithful love, and signifies dignity as the bishop’s stone. It carries the energy of fire and passion, creativity and spirituality, yet bears the logic of temperance and sobriety.
Amethyst is an excellent crystal to enhance physical vitality. It is also said to bring emotional stability and inner strength. Emotionally, amethyst is used in crystal healing to help heal personal losses and grief, bringing one gently past painful experiences.
Physically it is said that Amethyst boosts hormone production, tunes the endocrine system and metabolism, strengthens the immune system, reduces pain and strengthens the body. It is also said it destroys malignant tumours, aids in tissue regeneration, cleanses the blood and eases headaches and releases tension. It reduces bruising, swellings, injuries, and treats hearing disorders. Amethyst heals diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract, skin conditions, cellular disorders and diseases of the digestive tract.
Upon receiving your Amethyst amulet, we have cleansed and blessed them prior to your own infusement. But when in need and if you feel a lack of energy from your stone - sometimes it is a great idea to clean and re-energize it.
This can be done in many ways, and a simple guide can be followed here:
1. Water is an excellent cleanser for your Amethyst. You may hold your Amethyst under water. It’s most recommended that you bring your crystal to a pure spring, a river or ocean water is most ideal. However, if you don’t live near a body of water, running your Amethyst under tap water and just visualizing it washing away all the disruptions and impurities from your crystal will also work.
2. - Moonlight - Place your Amethyst amulet in the windowsill or on your porch overnight. The gentle light of the moon can re-energize your crystal and even imbue them with power. Pull them in the next morning
3. - Or - Snow - Placing your Amethyst in snow is also a quick and powerful way to cleanse it. This also helps you program your intentions and make them long lasting.
4. Close the ritual by ones again infusing your amulet with good intentions and the energies you wish your amulet to carry.
